Some issues that deserve the immediate attention of anthropology are human rights, and social justice. Currently human rights, and social justice present a national and international concern. Various problems are seen in the many crisis going on in several countries. American society is supposed to be a model for cultural evolution.  In the evolution of the human species, how a society reacts to social issues is an indicator of its evolution of a culture as a whole.

A society is judged by how it treats its citizens. This theory that a society is judged by how it treats its citizens is one of cultural relativism.  Biological anthropologists, and cultural anthropologists are in conflict with each other on how issues of social justice should be resolved. Cultural anthropology would be one of the subfields to begin to address social issues. Consequently, biological anthropology should be used only to seek a rehabilitative solution to origins of behavior, not to profile a group of individuals.  Investigating the origins of these issues my hold the key to resolving many issues faced by the world today.
